Questions

How do I price holiday light installation?

Many installers price per foot of roofline, then add trees, bushes and windows separately. Measure the roof edges you will light, multiply by your rate and check that small jobs still reach your minimum charge. The example rates here are only a starting point: set your own.

Labour only or lights supplied?

Some customers own their lights and only pay for the work; others want you to bring the lights. Keep the labour line for the work and, when you supply the lights, enter the same footage on the 'lights supplied' line. When you supply the lights, raise the supplies percentage so it covers what the lights cost you, or the margin check will look better than it is.

Should takedown and storage be on the quote?

Takedown is a second visit with the same ladders, so it is easier to agree on it up front. Storage only applies if you keep the customer's lights between seasons; leave it at 0 if you don't.

What do the roof pitch and height multipliers change?

The roof pitch multiplier scales every line of the job, because a steep roof slows all the work down. The height multiplier only changes the lines ticked as 'height applies' (roofline, takedown and windows by default). Set either one to 1 if you price this work another way. The roof pitch multiplier also scales the lights supplied and storage lines, so set those prices with this in mind.

Do repeat clients get a discount?

That is your choice. The calculator shows how a discount changes your margin before you offer it.

Is it free? What does Pro cost?

The calculator is free in your browser, with no account. Pro is a one-time payment of $19 for this tool: your business name on every quote, your own work items and a saved price book. No subscription.

Is this a CRM?

No. It is a quoting tool: it works out a price and prints a quote. It has no invoicing, no scheduling and no customer list, and you do not need an account. The numbers you type stay in your browser.

Prices and times are your own inputs: the example values are only a starting point, not market rates. Your data stays in your browser; only a licence key is checked when you unlock Pro.
